What is happening?

Kingshurst Infant School and Kingshurst Junior school have combined to create a new primary school on the same site.  This is the first completed school as part of Regenerating North Solihull and is a large milestone in the progress of the project. The school will form a big part of the new Kingshurst Village Centre when it is built in a few years time, bringing a safe and attractive community centre to the area.

Here are some facts about the new school:

  • The school will cater for 420 children – 2 classes for each age group
  • It will be bigger than the government standard size, at 31,000 square feet
  • There will be an on-site nursery with free half-day places and the chance to 'top up' more nursery time.

The new school opened on the 21st January 2008. It is formed from combining both the existing schools and every child attending either of these schools was guaranteed a place.
