As a fitting tribute, it has been decided to name a new housing development in Chelmsley Wood after him, Whitlock Way.

A sign to mark the site has been unveiled by Andy's mother Freda WhitlockOther members of Andy's family also attended the event, along with other community figures and representatives from Bellway Homes.

Duncan Sutherland of the North Solihull Regeneration Partnership, said: "We feel this is a fitting tribute to a man who was a dedicated community champion, and made a lasting contribution to the Partnership, the project and the community as a whole."
