Showhome now open at Chapel Walk development in Chelmsley Wood

Chapel Walk, the largest single investment to date in the regeneration of North Solihull has opened the doors on a three bedroom house show home.
Situated on Chapelhouse Road in Chelmsley Wood, the development features 61 houses and 36 apartments. Bringing well over Â£15million of investment to North Solihull, Chapel Walk will also see a Â£300,000 investment programme in neighbouring open space, transforming it into a safe attractive recreation area for local residents of all ages.
Prices for the three and four bedroom homes start from Â£177,000 and include garages. With 37 out of the 97 properties on the site already matched to purchasers, Bellway has introduced part-exchange on selected plots. First occupations will take place in October 2007.
Chapel Walk is a key development in the Â£1.8bn Regenerating North Solihull initiative, which is bringing wide-ranging improvements to the 1,000 acre regeneration area, which is located within easy reach of Birmingham International Airport and the NEC. 40,000 residents currently live across the three wards of Chelmsley Wood, Smith's Wood and Kingshurst.

Chapel Walk occupies the site of the former Whitesmore Secondary School, which was closed following the opening of the neighbouring state-of-the-art Grace Academy in 2006.
The North Solihull Partnership, which is delivering the Regenerating North Solihull programme is made up of housebuilder Bellway Homes, investment-led regeneration company Inpartnership, Solihull Council and Registered Social Landlord Whitefriars Housing Group.
In addition to the huge increase in quality housing provision for North Solihull, the Â£1.8bn, 15 year investment programme is also delivering other significant changes, such as 10 new primary schools, five new village centres and significant investment in improved public spaces and better infrastructure provision.
In addition, Chelmsley Wood town centre, which is within walking distance of Chapel Walk, is undergoing a Â£60m revamp as part of an Advantage West Midlands backed investment programme. Four secondary schools in North Solihullare also being re-built as part of the first wave of Building Schools for the Future government funding.
Janet Bradbury, chief executive of the North Solihull Partnership said: "Prior to the start of Regenerating North Solihull in 2005, there were no four bedroom homes in area populated by 40,000 people. If families needed larger homes they had to leave the area, and this was a trend that simply had to change. At both Alcott Grove, and now at Chapel Walk, not only are we able to offer four bedroom homes, but the principles of modern family living are also being embraced, with open plan areas and en-suite bathrooms.
"The standard of accommodation on offer for an affordable price at Chapel Walk is enabling local people to have the opportunity to own a family home and stay within the local area, so that they can take advantage of the vast improvements happening around them. We believe this scheme represents very good value for money when compared with any other new development across the West Midlands."
